Download the Booking Form and Conditions of Hire documents, keeping the latter to read and refer to during your hire. By signing the Booking Form (Hire Agreement) you agree that you have read and will abide by the Conditions of Hire as well as our Fire Safety Policy. The Conditions of Hire includes information relating to the safety of users, the hall and its neighbours, as well as certain legal requirements.
First, use the calendar at the bottom of the page to check availability.
If you can’t download the forms there are some copies adjacent to the Parish Council’s noticeboard in The Store, South Zeal or contact the Booking Clerk using the email address at the top of this page. If you have further queries the Booking Clerk’s phone number is 07739 401638, but initial enquiries about availability should be made by email after having checked the calendar below.
If your Booking Form form has been printed, complete, sign and either post to the Booking Clerk using the postal address on the form, or more preferably, scan or photograph and email.
The booking system works on a first come first served basis and there are no provisional bookings. Your hire is confirmed when your invoice is issued.
The keys CANNOT be provided until payment has been received. You’ll be given details for key collection in advance.
If you would like to use the PA System let the Booking Clerk know.
If you are interested in hiring the hall at short notice contact the Booking Clerk, who will also be happy to discuss any interest in booking the hall, from one off events to regular use.
Please don’t confuse the start time given in the calendar with the start time of an event. These are in most cases just a rough guide to show the start of the period a hirer has booked the hall for.
If you want to sell alcohol –If your event requires a bar, you’ll need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (T.E.N.) From West Devon Borough Council. Our Premises Licence allows 12 of these to be issued per year. Speak to the Booking Clerk who can also supply an application form.
If you want amplified sound – If you don’t have your own equipment, a PA system with integrated CD player is available for use at no extra charge. Also comprising 2 lapel mikes, 2 hand held mikes, 2 head band mikes, mixing desk, and benefiting from the 6 wall mounted speakers in the main hall. Ask the Booking Clerk for more information.
