Facilities 

Key features – The hall particularly benefits from its sizeable main hall; offering a generous capacity of 200 for music/ dancing, 152 for theatre style layout and a recommended 120 maximum when fully seated at tables. Central heating and lighting are included in the hire fee. Coin meters operate the hot water and wall heaters.

Main Hall (13.5m x 9m) –With wooden flooring and raised stage (see below).  Doors to each side of the front of the stage enter a connecting passageway along its other 3 sides. This is also the acess to the toilet facilities. Hatch access to kitchen and food serving area. The room benefits from a variety of room lighting options and curtains. A lighting gantry with sockets is available to use for your stage lighting. Door through to smaller meeting room.

Meeting room (7.5m x 4m) –  plus usable worksurface area over storage cupboards. This useful smaller room has a number of possible uses as well as for actual meetings. Also with its own serving hatch from the kitchen, the room is often used as the bar at parties and ‘cafe’ for jumble sales etc. The serving area further benefits from it being within a separate small lockable room inside the kichen, thus enabling for example, a secure space for beer barrel storage, when other parts of the hall are in use prior to an event. Also doubling as a changing room for theatre productions. Door to kitchen. With its own separate external door.

Raised stage (7m x 4.7m) – The stage includes removable stepped access to the front, side access, rear of stage curtains and front of stage curtains on a pulley.

Kitchen : (9m long and over 2m wide with additional areas at each end) – The kitchen offers very extensive worktop areas and serving hatch, two sinks, cooker, fridge, warming unit conveniently located under the serving hatch, coin operated water heater and a good range of cutlery, tea and coffee making equipment, crockery and jugs. It also benefits from the  bar/ serving area to the meeting room.

The toilet facilities, including disabled toilet are at the rear of the hall.


Fees

Non commercial hirers: When hiring the hall for less than a full day, hiring periods are usually broken down into the following three session choices: 9.00am to 1.00pm, 1.00pm to 5.30pm and 5.30pm to 11.30pm (depending on the night of the week)

The daytime fees per individual session are – Committee room £12 and whole premises £35. The fee for an evening session (start 5.30pm and finish after 7.00pm) is £50.

If booking for a whole day – whole premises for full day £100

If booking for longer than one day or wishing use the hall regularly? Contact the Booking Clerk ss the rates for these options differ and will be less than the published one off hire fees.

Remember, if your event requires a licensed bar, you’ll need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (T.E.N.) From West Devon Borough Council. Our Premises Licence allows 12 of these to be issued per year. 

Commercial hirers: First session £55, subsequent sessions in the same day £45.
